The Tri-County has board members and Board directors that are suppose to be looking out for us in this area. But did they drop the ball on this one.  Laurinburg is on of the 32 municipalities under ElectriCities and Progress Energy is putting a $20 million solar plant down south.  Well, why can’t we get one closer to home.  It would offset some of our electric cost, create jobs and save us money.  DUH?  And, before you say Progress and ElectriCities are two different companies; remember that both companies act jointly in the ownership of energy producing facilities around eastern North Carolina.
