Follow the money, from Wilmington to Raleigh…

This is a good link to get the play book of the beginning of the Gov. Easley mess.  Keep in mind that this is what the Fed’s are saying happened.  Then if you’re interested, take a look at a very good article by Scott Sexton from the Winston Salem Journal.

The only problem I have with the article came after reading the indictment.  Sexton makes it sound like Poole was a just a young lawyer trying to make his way along, who happened to have gotten caught up in a messy job.

Wrong: Poole came from a shit load of money, sucked up to Easley when he was Attorney General, moved over to the Governor’s Office, made even more money. Then bragged about it.  Come on folks, he wasn’t called the “little Governor” for nothing. 

Anyway, this is yet another tragic case of how money and power rule when it comes to politics, special favors, etc.  God help us.
