In my opinion, you couldn’t attend a more worthy cause. Woodard won the Democratic Primary against long time Sheriff Wayne Gay. At the time, they (Woodard & Gay) were the only candidates in the race for Wilson County Sheriff.
Since the primary, second in the Wilson County Sheriff command, John Farmer has entered into the race. The election is set for November.
For the record, I wholeheartedly support Woodard for this race. A race that should have finished with his victory in the primary. Connections with George Fisher, on WNCR TV, has reported the events leading up to the primary. But, especially after the primary: Sheriff Wayne Gay’s actions were inexcusable and his apology to Woodard was not only cold, but calculated.
Wilson County deserves better than these underhanded tactics by Gay and his supporters.
