You, more than likely, will not see this on the front page of the paper…check A3.  And, by paper, I mean the real papers like the N&O, Charlotte Observer, NYT, Wash Post, etc.  In a nutshell, forget about who you like, forget which party you support.  Just use logical thinking for a moment and leave your emotion out of it: Why, just why on Earth, would anyone NOT want to get to the truth…to the bottom of what happened with the BP Oil Spill?  11 workers lost their lives on that rig. Each one had a family.  Millions of barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf…we still don’t know the ramification and environmental impact as it relates to the ecosystem of that area.  Why would anyone Not want to get to the truth of the matter? 

The Republicans really just have no shame. The Democrats asked for unanimous consent in the Senate to pass legislation that would give the BP Oil Spill Commission subpoena power — and surprise, surprise! Guess who stood up for them and objected? Wingnut Teabagger King Jim DeMint. Republicans don’t want BP executives or any of the rest of them to have to testify under oath.
