I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before…a story broke today about Rep. Chris Lee of New York regarding a “craigslist” incident with a woman…and the Congressman resigns on the same day.
What does this say about the digital age we live in? What does it say about Rep. Lee?
What is really interesting to me is the fact it wasn’t a “mainstream” media outlet that broke the story: it was www.Gawker.com, an online publication.
The website posted alleged emails between Lee and a female. By late afternoon, the Rep’s office had drafted a resignation letter that was sent to the House and read by the Clerk around 6p.m.
"I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents…I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness."
Wow!
