One of my Bragg contacts directed me to an Army Times article today that opened my eyes. If the Federal government were to shut down due to budget disagreements, likely next week, our troops will not be paid!
This is much different from the 1995 shutdown when military personnel reported for work and were paid according to an operational plan of action.
After researching this, I have discovered that the pay furlough would not take place until April 1st. But, if Congress doesn’t come to terms regarding the budget, our troops could go several weeks or even months without getting a paycheck.
Paychecks that, according to my Bragg source, are desperately need. “We have families just like everybody else. We have kids we have to feed” said one Bragg soldier.

Pass this around…we can do better than this.
