Over the past two years I’ve noticed radical politicos on both sides on some of the social media sites.

Even though I don’t keep up with who says what, I do try to keep up with which side is purporting certain arguments.

What I’ve sensed is that by tweaking the subject matter—both sides are saying about the same thing.

When George H. W. Bush was sent to the hospital a few weeks ago, many on the far left made sarcastic remarks and some were even vulgar.

When Sen. Harry Reid fell and broke his ribs and facial bones—I saw the same from the far right.

Is there any wonder why both Parties are seeing a mass exodus and more and more voters are becoming independent and unaffiliated?

Seriously, what’s the point of winning the battle (the argument) when you lose the war in the end because of misplaced rhetoric?

Neither Party is completely right about everything—but we have a deep seeded need to prove we’re right and they’re wrong.

What happened to the days of “I see your point, but …” or “have you thought about it this way… .”

Politics use to be about persuasive argument—now it’s about cutting the other side to the quick. 

I criticize the media almost daily, but they didn’t teach us this—we’ve had this rabid disposition all along.  But, I think we’ve mostly yielded to the voice of our better angles.

If we want to seriously move the body politic, we’re going to have to speak to a higher call to action. 

That higher call is understanding we all have the same issues and concerns for ourselves, our families and our nation.  We need to communicate that understanding—not verbally beat to death our differences.
