Huffman ran for Congress in the North Carolina Democratic primary against two opponents in the state’s 8th Congressional District. He was able to come in second, beating out an opponent who outraised him 4:1.
In the end, I guess money does rule the day. The winner raised over $300K (by taking large sums from PACs including oil and gas) spent over $100K of that money on TV, radio, and newspaper ads
Huffman may have lost the battle, but he says he hasn’t lost the war. Looking at options, a possible run in 2020 and beyond, Huffman is staying active fighting the good fight to bring the important issues to the front burner of North Carolina politics.
