It took me about 20 hours to read and understand the stimulus bill. Here are some interesting items not talked about.

It took awhile, that’s for sure.

$20 billion for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority — the office within the Department of Health and Human Services — for vaccine procurement and distribution.

$15 billion for airline payroll support.

$1 billion for Amtrak.

$25 billion in rental assistance.

$13 billion from the second stimulus will go toward food-assistance programs, including SNAP benefits.

$13 billion in direct payments, buys, and loans to farmers who have taken hits during the pandemic.

$2 billion for Space Force.

$35 billion for clean energy research and development.

$22 billion for test-and-trace programs.

There is also a statement of policy regarding the succession or reincarnation of the Dalai Lama.

$82 billion for colleges and schools, including for heating-and-cooling system upgrades to mitigate virus transmission and reopen classrooms, and $10 billion for childcare assistance. Includes $54.3 billion for K-12 schools and $22.7 billion for higher education.

The establishment of two new Smithsonian museums.

The decriminalization of various minor violations, including the transportation of water hyacinths, alligator grass, or water chestnut plants across state lines and the unauthorized use of the Swiss coat of arms, the 4-H Club emblem, the “Smokey Bear” character or name, the “Woodsy Owl” character, name or slogan, or “The Golden Eagle Insignia”

$500M to Israel.

$2B for Air Force missle procuement.

$4B for Navy weapons.

In total, over $1.1B is being given to foreign countries. Including $10M to Pakistan for ‘gender studies.’ Oh, and $15M to them for democracy programs.

I’m being hyperbolic about the gender study, the argument is that it would promote the equality of women in that society.

But, the reality is that Pakistan has never liked us, housed Bin Laden and then criticized us when we invaded their airspace and took him out. Historically, they have always treated women as second class and I doubt that is changing anytime soon.

More than likely, they’ll take that money and shuffle it off to terrorist organizations. Because, after all, we need to build them back up so we can start another war to feed the military industrial complex.
