Kate Moss testifies for about 3 minutes via Zoom. Says Johnny never pushed her down a flight of stairs. Rebuttal witnesses for #teamJohnny refute psych experts on Amber Heard’s side.
According to some people in the gallery the jury body language suggests some jurors are just tired of this case. Perhaps they’ve made up their mind or perhaps they want to move on and hear closing arguments. We won’t know until we know.
Kate Moss didn’t stay a witness long enough for the jury to become enamored. She spent about three minutes via Zoom and all she said was that Johnny never pushed her down a flight of stairs. Then…thank you, bye.
Some people have asked me why I’m so interested in this trial. It’s pretty simple.
With the advent of #metoo we’re suppose to believe all women, anytime, anyplace no matter the circumstances. I’ve never bought that argument.
From my years of working in local TV and being in a courtroom I saw may women who used the legal system as a weapon against a male adversary. I also saw women who were well justified in bringing domestic abuse issues to the court for remedy. But, not all. In fact, over the years it was about 70-30.
The real issue is all the men who for one reason or another who are abused by women seem to fall through the cracks.
Years ago a local lawyer told he that he never rely on female abuse as a main argument because (at the time) judges wouldn’t consider it. It weakened his male client’s case.
Times haven’t changed that much in 30 years. Men still remain silent so perhaps Amber was right when she said:
“Tell the world, Johnny. Tell them, I Johnny Depp, a man, am a victim of domestic violence.”
She went on to say, “Who’s going to believe you. Tell a jury … a judge… who’s going to believe you?”
Well, he did tell the world in open court. And, we do believe him.
Hopefully if anything good can come out of this mess is the understanding that men can be abused and some women will lie.
