CFFU Rocky Mount: Resolution to Rocky Mount City Council


Presented tonight before the Rocky Mount City Council.

 

CITY OF ROCKY MOUNT

RESOLUTION TO ESTABLSIH THE MONTH OF

MAY, 2009

AS “UTILITIES AWARENESS MONTH”

WHEREAS, the City of Rocky Mount is a Public Power providing power and gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers and

WHEREAS, the mission of Rocky Mount Public Utilities is to provide efficient, competitive and responsive service for the benefit of all customers and

WHEREAS, Public Power utilities provide value to the greater Rocky Mount community by promoting economic prosperity, preserving public health and safety, and ensuring a viable future through responsible utilization of resources and

WHEREAS, the City of Rocky Mount appreciates the electric needs of our citizens to lower electric cost, conserve electricity, and weatherize homes to reduce the overall demand and cost of power;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rocky Mount:

That the month of May, 2009, be proclaimed as Utilities Awareness Month as an avenue to educate and heighten efforts to conserve, weatherize, and lower the overall cost of electricity.

  1. I do not see how this resolution does any good. I disagree that “Public Power” provides anything good. It certainly DOES NOT promote economic prosperity. Givemeabreak. It is doing the opposite. What is the point of this. It looks like ElectriCities wrote it.

    Did we ever get any answers for ElectriCities of NC, Inc.??

    An employee there told me another employee is GONE because of Estherine Davis and that this is the seventh person to work with her and BE GONE in two short years.
