In the aftermath of bin Laden, which political team do you think is getting the word out? If you picked the Dems you are absolutely wrong! In fact, it’s not even close.
Main stream media is buzzing with the bin Laden story. In fact, it has taken up over 70 percent of the airtime coverage over the past twenty-four hours. But, when you track local, regional and state newspapers; twitter followings and regional “camera” time; the Republicans are leaving the Democrats in the dust.
So, who’s really getting the most press and therefore, getting the word out?
Overall:
Sen. Susan Collins, R-ME, with over 30 mentions counting both print and camera.
Sen. Scott Brown, R-MA with over 21 mentions, mostly print.
Sen. Bob Corker, R-TN with 20 mentions, again mostly print.
On Twitter:
Rep. Robert Wittman, R-VA;
Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX;
Rep. Peter Roskam, R-IL.
In care you’re wondering who’s in front of the camera more, have no fear-I’ve got that too.
After subtracting the stories related to bin Laden and what I call the “spin push” the list is:
Sen. C. Saxby Chambliss, R-GA;
Sen. Ben Cardin, D-MD;
and last but not least Rep. Mike Quigley, D-IL.
All this from a news cycle set up by Providence to pat the Dems on the back. Well, think again.
