This is a test

This is a test using speech to text recognition software. This is only a test. If this had been an actual blog entry, I would have pissed you off by now. We now resume your normally scheduled life already in progress. This is only a test.

Now on a more serious side, I am testing out speech to text recognition software as a way of easily being able to post material to my blog. But while I have your attention, I do want to thank you for subscribing to Who The Hell Is George and for following me on Facebook and Google plus. I believe politics is very important because only through politics can we affect change without the need of a military conflict.

Through politics we can sustain our way of living, care for our elderly in their golden years, feed the hungry and help those less fortunate. And, we can certainly give a voice to those who otherwise could not be heard.

Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican I believe we all want the same basic things—even if we disagree on how to approach the issues: we want to be able to raise our children unencumbered and be able to provide a good education for them; we want to be able to work, live and play in relative safety. I believe that through politics we can manage those issues and more.

I believe that through politics we can enact legislation that will protect the poor. We can enact legislation that will create jobs, sustain the economy and over all provide a better standard of living for ourselves–and for our children who will come after us. Having said this, it is paramount that we collectively elect the right politicians for the job. Voters have to be able to vet their candidates. And they have to be able to trust the people they elect to office. In many ways, that is what Who The Hell Is George is all about. It makes you think not only about the candidates running for office but I hope it brings insight into the questions that need to be asked of those candidates.

It is not simply an argument for one side versus the other–what I have always strived to do is to not just lay ideology at your feet, but to help build the foundation for critical thinking in determining if a politician is worthy of your vote. To that extent, you may not always agree with me, but I hope I have at least made you think about some issues relevant in the campaign cycle on a much deeper level.

The most valuable thing a person has to offer is their time. So again thank you for your time and for following me.

George
